This piece was inspired by the untimely death of my father (who loved clocks and watches!). It invites you to contemplate the cyclical nature of existence. It captures the inevitable end we all face and the rebirth that follows, symbolizing transformation and new beginnings. The incorporation of a real obsidian stone adds a tactile, grounding element, emphasizing the strength and protection associated with this volcanic glass. This stone, traditionally believed to have metaphysical properties, connects the physical and spiritual realms, anchoring the artwork in both reality and mysticism.
The mixed media approach brings texture and depth, inviting you to engage with the layers of meaning and the intricate interplay between life and death.Multi-Media, Inset in Black Frame protected with Museum Glass
